What
The URHO/msw-work is a national support service for men and trans people who are working in sex and/or erotic industry. Social- and health care services have often been developed based on the needs of women and the special needs of men and trans people have not necessarily been fully considered. Many issues affecting people are similar for both sexes, however men and trans people have also various specific needs. The URHO/msw-work concentrates on these needs.
We welcome all men and trans people who are either sex workers, or are involved in sex industry, to participate in developing and using this support service regardless of your nationality and/or sexual orientation.
The URHO/msw-work is a part of the Pro-tukipiste and it is being funded by the Ministry of Social affairs and Health.
Why
Doing sex work or being involved in sex industry is rarely a topic you wish to talk with your relatives and friends in casual settings. Many choose to keep this area of their life hidden or talk about it only with other people in the similar situation. The URHO/msw-work gives you the opportunity to talk openly about issues that are relevant you, and you also have a possibility to explore your feelings and thoughts in confidence. Once in a while, it may be good for you to reflect on these issues with an outsider.
In addition, you will have a possibility to receive support and advice through URHO/msw-work in practical matters such as:
- Residence
- Accomodation
- Financial and legal issues
- Employment
- Health and wellbeing including e.g free condoms and lubricants, testing for HIV & hepatitis & other sexually transmitted diseases. Hepatitis-B vaccinations also available.
How
All of the services provided are confidential, anonymous by request, and free of charge.
The URHO/msw-work is happy to receive any comments about the service and we welcome ideas and suggestions on how to develop them further.

E-advisor
E-advisor provides up-to-date information related to matters such as safer sex, health, sexuality, sexual health and general wellbeing. All answers are replied to by trained social- and health care professionals.
All services are free of charge and anonymous. You can ask questions and make comments by using a nick-name. Anonymity and confidentiality are guaranteed. Please take into consideration, that if you wish to receive an private answer, than provide us with the e-mail address you wish to receive our message.
Questions and answers can be edited from the original questions. With permission, answers and comments can be published in QA-section of this page. Questions and comments will be replyed to within two weeks after they have been received.
Comments which are out of topic and insulting will not be published. The webmaster has the right to edit questions and comments.
